The Top Benefits of Document Control in Achieving Quality Excellence

From planning and implementation to final audit and review, documenting each stage of quality management becomes essential to achieving the highest quality standards, compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Certainly, hundreds of documents are created daily within the entire quality management ecosystem. But have you ever thought about what happens to them throughout their lifecycle? Can you control the document access? What if we need to revert the changes and restore the earlier version? This is where document control steps in.
Document control is referred to as a systematic process of storing, managing, tracking, and sharing documents in a secure environment. Indeed, a robust document control system helps quality teams to record entire quality procedures such as approvals, feedback, process changes, CAPA implementation, and more, infusing transparency and a sense of accountability within the organization. However, there are many more benefits of having a robust document control system.
Let's explore them one by one.
Key Benefits of Document Control in Quality Management
Ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Being compliant with the regulatory standards is mandatory, and implementing a robust document control system can strengthen your claim of assured quality. It offers a lot of features like versioning, access control, audit trails, and more that fit the regulatory requirements of industries like healthcare, manufacturing, finance, etc., eliminating the risk of non-compliance.
Ensures traceability and accountability
A robust document control system empowers users to record each stage of the quality process. It helps quality teams to access the detailed activity log, offering a complete record of who accessed, modified, and deleted the documents and when, creating a comprehensive audit trail. Leveraging automated workflows for document review, approvals, and re-approvals, coupled with digital signatures and email notifications, further enhances transparency and accountability in the quality process.
Increases operational efficiency
Often, multiple cross-functional teams are involved in the quality processes, and it's essential for them to collaborate seamlessly, share critical information, and access reports and documents. However, a document control system allows teams to leverage centralized repositories, facilitates auto-naming, and uses metadata, bringing all the key documents to their fingertips. This saves time, facilitates collaboration, and improves decision-making.
Consistency and standardization
Following a structured framework for creating and managing documents helps maintain consistency throughout the organization. A well-planned document control strategy involves creating predefined templates and formats for different reports, forms, and documents to ensure uniformity and reduce manual errors. However, organizations can also add specific access levels, assign reviewers and approvers, and create and distribute SOPs and guidelines to ensure a consistent approach to quality management.
Way forward
A robust document control strategy allows organizations to maintain a detailed record of processes, procedures, changes, and decisions made throughout the quality management operations. However, leveraging a digital solution can amplify your efforts by facilitating document access, fostering collaboration, automating workflows, and securing critical data. This leads to reduced errors, enhanced efficiency, and improved compliance, ultimately improving quality and supporting faster and more efficient decision-making.

how do I get people to understand that if you need to make changes to a document - do NOT do it in the PDF version. PDFs are the devil's format and they will break everything.
always keep the original Word version and always make edits in Word itself.
and for the love of god DO NOT convert a Word document to PDF, then (for some reason) convert that PDF back to Word and expect it to still have the same functionality as the original!!!!
#every day I think about that post that said office jobs are piss easy and anyone can just pop in for a day and do a good job#where are all the people who think it's easy and why do none of them work at my office!!!#genuinely wish I could control the hiring process bc I would make people do a take home assignment:#you receive a word document with comments and tracked changes and a table of contents#plus a list of additional changes to make to the document. you make the changes.#accept tracked changes. resolve the comments. update the table of contents. and convert to PDF.#if you can do that successfully - congrats you are already better than 90% of my employees!#augh. Chocolate Sapote Pie

Hey 3WD, why are you making a vegan, gluten-free, no-processed-sugar dessert? Well, you see, I have friends with many, many allergies and felt like a challenge.
This recipe is an experiment with Black Sapote (also called Chocolate Pudding Fruit) – a seasonal persimmon relative that’s high in Vitamin C and has a pudding-like flesh with mild chocolate and caramel notes. While limited availability of Sapotes means it’s not as accessible as something like Chocolate Avocado Pie, it’s a fun thing to play with if you like poking around with the weird fruit section of produce markets (as a bonus, Black Sapotes were selling for $1-2 per fruit both times I visited).
Let's get cooking:
Kitchen equipment
Blender/food processor
Beaters (hand-crank or electric)
20cm (8 inch) springform cake tin
Baking/ Greaseproof paper
Fridge & Oven
Fine mesh sieve (or tea strainer)
Mixing bowls, spatula, knives, spoons etc.
Prep-time
Bench work: approx. 40 minutes
Oven time: approx. 30 minutes
Cooling time: approx. 2-3 hours (minimum)
Coconut cream chill time: 12 hours (minimum)*
*Coconut cream needs to be refrigerated for 12 hours in order to separate properly before whipping. Put your cream in the fridge the night before.
Ingredients

Pie crust
300g (10.5 Oz) pecans
4 large medjool dates (seeds removed, roughly chopped)
1 tsp salt
4 tbsp (approx. 60g/ 2 Oz) margarine, melted
Filling
2 large, ripe Black Sapotes*
1/2 cup (125mL) cocoa powder
4 large medjool dates (seeds removed, roughly chopped)
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp espresso powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
*Black Sapotes are ripe when the skin has darkened to a dull green-brown and the fruit is very soft to the touch (it will look and feel over-ripe).
Topping
One 400mL (13.5 Fl Oz) can high-quality full-fat coconut cream*
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla extract
Approx. 80g (3 Oz) pecans, toasted** and crumbled
Cocoa powder for dusting
*Use a premium quality coconut cream – the difference in price is very small and cheaper creams may not separate properly, which will stop them from whipping up. **Toast pecans by baking in a preheated 140°C/248°F (fan forced) oven for 15-30 minutes until done to your liking.
Instructions
Pie crust (Inspiration recipe)
Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F (fan forced).
Line the base and sides of the spring form pan with baking paper. (Try to minimise wrinkles/folds in the paper lining – this will make it easier to remove the crust later.)
Place chopped dates, pecans and salt into a blender. Blend until the mixture has the texture of breadcrumbs/ almond meal.
Stream in melted margarine and blend until completely combined (crumbs should stick together when pressed)
Press mixture into a firm, even layer across the base and up the sides of the spring form tin, using clean hands or the back of a spoon to smooth down.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust begins to brown. (Watch closely after the 8-minute mark to prevent burning).
Remove from oven. If the crust has puffed up, press back down using the back of a spoon. (Tip: use a toothpick or fork to gently pop any large air-pockets in the base.)
Cool on a wire rack or heat-safe cutting board until the crust reaches room temperature.
Filling (Inspiration recipe)
Preheat oven to 180°C/350°F (fan forced).
Cut open the Black Sapotes. Remove the seeds and scoop/scrape the flesh out with a spoon. (Note: because Black Sapote skin is very thin and soft when ripe, it cannot be traditionally peeled.)
Transfer one quarter of the fruit flesh to a blender, along with the chopped dates. Process until completely smooth.
Transfer the sweetened sapote mixture into a bowl alongside the remaining sapote flesh. Mix until completely combined (use your spoon or spatula to break down any lumps or fibers in the fruit flesh).
Fold in the cocoa powder, expresso powder, vanilla and salt until completely combined. Taste for flavouring and adjust with more cocoa/vanilla/espresso/salt as desired. (Note: adding cocoa will increase the bitterness of the filling alongside the chocolate-y flavour. This can be hard to counteract without adding sugar or blending in more dates so be careful how much you add at once.)
Transfer filling into your pre-prepared pecan crust. Smooth the top with a spoon or spatula.
Bake for 20 minutes or until the filling is lightly firm to the touch.
Cool completely on a wire rack or heat-safe cutting board, then cover and transfer to the fridge until chilled through.
Cream Topping (Inspiration recipe)
Chill coconut cream for at least 12 hours.
Remove coconut cream from the fridge (Note: DO NOT Shake).
Use a spoon to scoop out the thick cream that has risen to the top, leaving the watery parts behind. (The more water is in your cream, the less firmly it will whip). Transfer the thick cream to a bowl. (Tip: have an extra jar of chilled cream on hand in case the cream yield from the first tin is low)
Add the vanilla and salt to the cream. Stir through, then taste test and adjust the vanilla/salt as needed. (Note: Like with plain dairy cream, this should taste more neutral than sweet).
Beat your cream, starting on a slow speed. Gradually increase speed until whipped to thick, semi-stiff peaks. (Tip: if your cream is very soft to start with, try covering and chilling in the refrigerator to help it firm up.)
Remove the chilled sapote tart from the spring form pan. (Optional: If the sides of your pecan crust are much taller than your filling, you can use a pair of clean, sharp kitchen scissors to trim it down. Use a clean hand to shield the pie filling from any falling crust-crumbs).
Spoon the whipped cream onto the sapote filling, using the back of the spoon to make decorative swirls. (Optional: use a piping bag with a decorative nozzle for a fancier top).
Sprinkle the cream with crumbled pecans. Dust with cocoa powder using a fine sieve or tea-strainer. (Note: Add the nuts first - otherwise the cocoa powder will prevent them from sticking to the cream, causing them to roll everywhere when the pie is cut).
Return to the fridge until the coconut cream is completely chilled.
Serve.

The existence of an immigration-enforcement agency isn’t inherently the problem. Most people accept that states have a right to control their borders and that there’s a legitimate role for authorities charged with enforcing immigration policy, especially when it comes to those who have committed serious crimes. ICE also investigates trafficking, smuggling and other transnational offenses that clearly require federal oversight. The core issue is less the agency’s mandate than its methods. Well-documented abuses — denials of due process, inhumane conditions and politically motivated enforcement — have undermined public trust and raised serious ethical concerns. The worry is not whether immigration law should be enforced but how, and at what human cost. The holding facilities ICE uses are part of this system: They house people awaiting deportation, court appearances or further investigation. What’s in dispute isn’t the need for such spaces; its the treatment of detainees within those spaces. Many facilities have drawn criticism for degrading or dangerous conditions. Still, as a beneficiary of a trust that rents a property to ICE, your leverage is minuscule. You can’t unilaterally break the lease. Even if you could, ICE would simply relocate its facility. And while moral complicity is a serious concern, receiving income from a legal tenant, however problematic, isn’t generally considered an ethical transgression on its own. We’re all entangled in systems we don’t control. As citizens, we’re already implicated in the actions of government agencies that act in our name and that we help fund. If those actions are shameful, they cast a shadow on all of us. But that shared entanglement also opens the door to shared responsibility — and response. [...] Here’s one constructive path: If this money feels tainted, redirect it. Use it to support organizations that advocate for the rights you believe ICE has violated — groups like the A.C.L.U., the American Immigration Council or local legal-aid nonprofits that provide support for detainees. Back candidates pushing for humane immigration reform.

White Horse - Chapter 26: July 2024 - Part 1
Pairing: Max Verstappen x Isabelle Leclerc (Original Character)
Summary:
Max Verstappen is a World Champion. Isabelle Leclerc is invisible.
She watched her family give up everything for Charles’ career—Arthur’s karting, their father’s savings, even her childhood horse. She understood. She never asked for more.
But Max does. He notices the things no one else does, listens when no one else will, and puts her first in ways she never imagined. With him, she isn’t an afterthought—she’s a choice. And for the first time, she realizes she doesn’t have to be invisible.
Warnings and Notes:
we have now moved on from Charles bashing to bashing his whole family, Discussions of toxic past relationships, talk about loosing a childhood pet, toxic families, mention of the loss of a parent.
As always big thanks to @llirawolf , who listens to me ramble

The conference room was sleek and quiet — all minimalist design, smooth wood, and muted light. The floor-to-ceiling windows looked out over Monaco’s marina, but Belle barely registered the view. Her hands were folded neatly in her lap, one leg crossed over the other, Max’s knee brushing hers beneath the table like a silent anchor.
Belle sat beside Max at a long table in a private meeting room, her hands folded carefully in her lap. The lawyer — a tall, gentle-voiced woman named Monique with sharp eyes and an expensive watch — smiled politely as she turned the final page of a stack of documents.
She had known about the pregnancy since Max had called last week and said, “We need to make sure she’s protected. Properly.”
It hadn’t been dramatic. There were no tears. No whispered breakdowns.
Just Max, calm and steady, saying "my wife is having our child, and I want everything in place if I don’t come home."
And Belle had agreed. Because love like theirs wasn’t made of denial.
It was made of preparation.
Monique spoke first.
“I’ve drafted the new will, updated with the marriage registration and the preliminary trust structure for the baby.” She slid a folder across the table to Max. “It’s standard language, but I can walk you through it.”
Max nodded. “Let’s do that.”
Belle glanced at the page — her name in clean legal font at the top. It still startled her sometimes. Isabelle Verstappen. A name that felt more like a promise than a title.
Monique continued, calm and clear. “Everything’s been updated as requested. The property title adjustment will be processed this week, and the new will reflects both your marriage and the pending addition to your family. In the event of Max’s death, Belle inherits all real estate assets, including the Monaco apartment, She also has controlling interest in the holding companies and exclusive guardianship of the child. There is a clause allowing her to appoint a secondary guardian if needed, and a separate financial trust to be accessed at her discretion for the child’s care.”
Belle’s fingers tensed slightly on her notebook.
Max reached under the table, slid his hand into hers.
Monique continued. “You both now hold medical power of attorney for one another. In the event of a serious injury or incapacitation, decisions will legally fall to the surviving spouse. The trust for the child will be activated upon birth and can be revised at any time.”
Belle blinked. “You’ve already set up a trust?”
Max nodded beside her. “I wanted it in place before they got here.”
Monique smiled. “It’s not uncommon for high-risk professions.”
High-risk. Belle hated that word.
Monique glanced at Max. “There’s a healthcare proxy included as well. You’ve named your wife as the sole decision-maker if you’re incapacitated.”
He didn’t hesitate. “Of course.”
Belle didn’t speak for a moment. Just breathed. Absorbed.
Because here it was. In print. In contracts and clauses and notarized certainty.
This man — who drove faster than anyone else on earth — was handing her the most fragile parts of his life and saying I trust you.
Not out of fear.
But out of love.
Monique gave them a moment before gently flipping to the next document. “There’s just one more point of discussion — guardianship, in the event that… well, neither of you are able to care for your child.”
Belle straightened.
“Obviously we don’t need an answer right this second,” Monique added, professional but kind. “But it’s something we do recommend including in advance. Just in case.”
Belle didn’t hesitate.
“Victoria and Tom.”
Max glanced at her, surprised.
“They already have three kids,” she said softly. “Their home is overflowing with love. Lio and Luka would be like big brothers. Hailey a big sister. ”
Max looked at her for a long moment — not surprised, just… moved.
“Okay,” he said, quietly, final. “Victoria and Tom.”
Monique made a quiet note, then gathered the papers. “That’s all for today. You’re welcome to take copies home, review anything again, but legally — everything’s in place.”
Belle signed.
Her name — Isabelle Verstappen — in clean, looping ink at the bottom of the page. Not to take something away. But to build something forward.
Belle hesitated. “Is there… anything else?”
Monique raised an eyebrow gently. “Such as?”
Belle glanced down at her lap. “I thought Max might… want me to sign something else.”
Silence.
Then, Max’s hand slid over hers beneath the table. “You mean a prenup?”
Belle nodded once.
Monique blinked, surprised. “There’s nothing of the sort, Belle. That was never discussed.”
Belle looked at Max, who met her eyes steadily.
“I didn’t marry you with conditions,” he said simply. “What’s mine is yours. What’s ours is already half your idea anyway.”
Belle stared at him for a second — stunned, soft, wrecked.
Then she cleared her throat. “Okay. That’s… not what I expected. But okay.”
When it was done, Monique gathered the documents, promising scans and copies by end of day.
The room emptied, polite and efficient.
Belle stayed seated.
Max didn’t move either.
She finally turned to him. “That felt…”
“Big?” he offered.
She nodded.
“But good,” she added, quieter now. “Because this is ours. Our life. Our family. Even the scary parts.”
Max kissed her temple. “That’s why we’re here.”
Her hand found his on the table, fingers lacing together.
“I hope none of it ever matters,” she whispered.
He looked down at their names on the signed pages.
“It already does,” he said.

Victoria: Now I’m crying in the supermarket, thanks 🙄
Max: Sorry (But not really)
Victoria: We’ll take care of them. No matter what. But nothing’s going to happen to you, okay?
Max: Yeah I know Still I sleep better knowing it’s you
Victoria: We love you. And we love her. And we already love this baby.
Max: Thanks, Vic. Really.

The therapy room was quiet in the way only tension could make it — not peaceful, but primed. A silence that hummed with everything unsaid, everything tiptoed around for years.
Belle sat on the edge of the sofa, hands clasped tightly in her lap, her pulse thrumming just beneath her skin like a warning. Every muscle in her body was taut — trying to hold everything in place. Her blouse, loose by design, felt suddenly too tight across her chest. She hadn’t been sleeping. She hadn’t eaten lunch. There was a dull ache in her temples, a sharper one behind her ribs.
Max was beside her.
He hadn’t spoken.
He hadn’t even moved, aside from the occasional brush of his thumb against hers.
But his presence was solid. Anchoring. The one thing in this room that didn’t make her feel like she had to prove she belonged.
Across from her, her family sat arranged like a tableau of old fractures: Pascale, elegant but weary, lips pressed tightly together; Arthur, fidgeting in his chair, worry written into the curve of his brow; Lorenzo, arms folded like a gate; and Charles — the one who hadn’t looked at her properly once since she’d walked in.
Camille, the therapist, smiled gently. “Thank you all for being here. We’re here to listen first. Belle, since you asked for this session, would you like to begin?”
Belle nodded, throat tight. “I don’t expect this to fix everything. But I wanted to give you a chance to hear me. I’ve felt invisible for a long time. And I know that might not have been your intention, but it doesn’t make it less real.”
She paused.
No one spoke.
She added, voice quiet but edged in iron: “And I’m not here to be blamed for how I coped with that.”
That was when Charles finally looked up. “Then maybe he shouldn’t be here.”
Max didn’t move.
Belle’s grip on his hand tightened.
Camille interjected gently. “Charles, we agreed to keep this space respectful—”
“Respectful?” Charles cut in, eyes flashing. “You brought him to a family session. The man who didn’t even tell me he married my sister. The one person guaranteed to turn this into a war.”
Belle’s voice cracked, quiet but firm. “Max is here because I want him here. He’s my family now. He supports me. He doesn’t speak over me or forget I exist unless it’s convenient.”
“You bring him here, like he has any right to sit in a family session—”
“Charles—” Camille began.
But he was already unraveling.
“—Like he didn’t make it worse. Like he didn’t encourage all of this—”
Belle flinched.
“Charles,” Max said, voice low but firm.
“You don’t get to talk—”
“Stop it!” Belle snapped, her voice breaking.
The sound echoed louder than shouting.
Everyone went still.
She stood — too quickly — and emotion spilled over before she could stop it. Her hands shook. Her breath hitched. Tears began streaming down her cheeks before she could blink them back.
“I invited him,” she said, trembling. “Because he’s the only one in this room who never made me feel like I had to earn his love. He didn’t ask me to shrink or wait or perform. He didn’t disappear until it was convenient to care again. He showed up.”
Arthur’s expression twisted with guilt. Pascale’s eyes filled with tears. Lorenzo exhaled like he’d been punched in the stomach.
“I tried for years to matter to you,” Belle whispered. “And when I finally stopped waiting, when I found something good, you acted like it was betrayal. It wasn’t. It was survival.”
But when Belle cried harder, silent and shaking, one hand pressed protectively to her stomach — a reflex now, a habit more than a choice — Max’s restraint cracked.
“Enough,” he said, voice sharp and fierce and final.
The entire room froze.
“This isn’t good for the baby.”
Everything. Stopped.
The silence that followed was different. Not tense — stunned. Heavy. Real.
Charles froze.
Pascale’s hand flew to her mouth.
Arthur blinked, mouth slightly open.
Lorenzo — unreadable, contained Lorenzo — lost every ounce of composure.
Belle sat, still breathing too fast, still cradling her abdomen like she didn’t even realize her hand was there.
“She’s crying in a therapist’s office because her own family forgot her,” Max said, his voice flat, controlled. “And she still came here hoping you’d be different. And you’re yelling at her like it’s her fault she stopped begging you to see her.”
“You—” Charles started.
Max’s eyes burned. “She’s pregnant. And this stress? This shouting? This guilt-tripping? It’s not just hurting her anymore. It’s hurting both of them.”
Real, stunned silence.
Belle covered her face with both hands, chest heaving.
Max moved instantly, kneeling beside her. “You didn’t do anything wrong,” he whispered. “You gave them a chance. That’s more than they deserved.”
Camille cleared her throat gently, measured but soft. “Belle… thank you for being honest. Max, thank you for saying what needed to be said.”
Belle shook her head, still too overwhelmed to speak. Her body ached with tension she hadn’t realized she was carrying.
Max didn’t let go of her.
He stood and turned to face them — not angry. Not cruel. Just done.
“She’s pregnant,” he repeated. “And she came here because she still believed you deserved the chance to be part of that. But if what you bring is more of this — more silence, more anger, more entitlement — then maybe she needs to stop giving chances to people who don’t know what to do with them.”
He sat beside Belle again, taking her hand in both of his.
She didn’t look up. She couldn’t. Her hand stayed curled over her belly, protective. Heartbroken.
Then, after a long, still moment—
“I didn’t know,” Charles said. Quiet. Shaken. “Isabelle, I didn’t… I swear, I didn’t know.”
“I know,” she whispered.“That’s the problem.”
More silence.
Then Pascale wiped at her eyes, voice shaking. “I want to be part of this. Not just the baby. You. I want to do better.”
Arthur nodded. “I will. I already started. But I’ll do more. Whatever you need.”
Lorenzo’s voice was hoarse. “You shouldn’t have had to say any of that alone.”
Camille waited. Then softly, “This is where it begins. Not with fixing. But with listening. With staying.”
Belle finally looked up.
Still hurt. Still guarded.
But in her eyes — something softened.
She didn’t say I forgive you.
She said something truer.
“You have a long way to go,” Belle said, voice rough.“But you’re here. That’s a start.”
***
By the time they got home, Belle hadn’t said a word.
Max didn’t push. He unlocked the door, opened it for her, let her walk through the apartment at her own pace. She moved like someone underwater — slow, dazed, like her body had been hollowed out.
She didn’t even take off her shoes.
She just stood in the middle of their living room, arms limp at her sides, until Max gently touched her elbow.
“Sit,” he said softly. “I’ll get you water.”
But she didn’t sit.
She crumpled.
It wasn’t a fall — not all at once — but something slower, sadder. She sank down onto the rug like her bones had given out, hands covering her face, breath catching in her throat.
Then the sobs came.
Max was beside her in an instant, sinking to his knees, gathering her into his arms without a second’s hesitation.
She curled into him like she’d been waiting all day for it. Like she’d finally let herself feel everything she hadn’t let show in front of them.
And Max—Max held her like he never intended to let go.
“I’m sorry,” he whispered into her hair, one hand stroking her back, the other cradling her head as she buried her face into his chest. “God, Belle. I’m so sorry.”
She shook her head against him, but he kept going.
“I shouldn’t have said it like that,” Max said, voice rough. “Not like that. I should’ve asked. I should’ve let you decide.”
Belle didn’t answer — not in words — but she held him tighter, and that was enough.
She cried for a long time.
Not loud. Not dramatic.
Just steady.
Heartbroken.
Max held her through all of it. Through the shaking, the ragged breathing, the muffled apologies she tried to whisper into his shoulder. He didn’t correct her. Didn’t argue. He just rubbed circles into her back and reminded her, again and again, in the softest voice he had:
“You didn’t do anything wrong.”
At some point, he coaxed her into bed. She resisted, groggy and stubborn through the haze of exhaustion, but eventually let him pull back the covers and tuck her in. She wore his hoodie — one of the big, soft ones — and it swallowed her. Her hand still rested over her stomach as she lay on her side, eyes red and barely open.
Max kissed her temple, her forehead, her hand. He didn’t leave her side until her breathing evened out and she finally slipped into sleep.
Then — and only then — did he let himself move.
Quietly, he crossed the room to where his phone sat on the kitchen counter.
He didn’t text. Didn’t scroll.
He found the number for Belle’s doctor and sent a message requesting an appointment.
Tomorrow. Urgent if possible.
She hadn’t eaten all day.
She hadn’t slept properly in nearly a week.
And her crying tonight… it had shaken something in him.
She always carried things so quietly. Until she couldn’t anymore.
Max stood at the kitchen counter, staring down at his phone, still in his jeans and hoodie from earlier, and exhaled a breath he hadn’t realized he was holding.
He couldn’t make her family change.
But he could protect this.
Her.
Their baby.
He would make sure she was seen, cared for, and safe — even if it meant dragging the world into a quiet, burning rage to make it happen.
The phone buzzed with a confirmation.
Appointment: Tomorrow. 9:30 AM.
Max looked back toward the bedroom.
Belle was asleep, one arm curled under her pillow, still holding her stomach like a shield.
And Max made himself a promise.
They would never make her cry like that again.
Not while he was breathing.
***
The four of them sat in stunned silence.
The therapy room door had closed behind Belle and Max ten minutes ago, but no one had moved since. Camille had offered them space to process, and they’d taken it — not because they needed it, but because they didn’t know what else to do.
Charles sat with his hands clenched in his lap, staring at the floor like it had betrayed him. Pascale held a tissue tightly in one hand, face pale, mascara faintly smudged beneath her eyes. Lorenzo’s arms were crossed — his usual stoicism barely holding under the tension in his jaw.
And Arthur — the youngest— was pacing.
Charles finally broke the silence. “She’s pregnant.”
“Yes,” Arthur said flatly, not looking at him.
Charles blinked, still stunned. “She’s actually—she didn’t even tell us.”
“She didn’t owe us that,” Arthur snapped, turning to face them. “Not after everything.”
Pascale looked up. “Arthur—”
“No,” he said, sharper than they’d ever heard him. “No. I’m not doing this. We’re not going to sit here and act like we’re the wounded ones.”
“She should’ve told us,” Charles muttered. “We’re her family—”
Arthur rounded on him. “Then maybe we should’ve acted like it.”
That landed.
Charles looked up, startled.
Arthur laughed — a short, bitter sound. “You really don’t get it, do you? Belle spent years trying to be seen. Trying to be heard. Every time she did something good, we clapped for a second and then went back to talking about karting or my race result or whatever Charles was doing that week.”
“That’s not fair,” Charles said stiffly.
“No?” Arthur said, eyes narrowing. “Name where she was when she graduated top of her class. You remember what we sent her?”
Charles didn’t answer.
“Exactly,” Arthur snapped. “Nothing. We forgot. We forgot her birthday, Charles. And even then, she didn’t scream at us. She just stopped trying.”
“I didn’t mean to forget—”
“You didn’t mean to notice her, either,” Arthur said, quieter now. “But Max did.”
That silenced the room.
Arthur ran a hand through his hair, pacing again. “You know what gets me the most? She still gave us a chance. She walked in there, pregnant, vulnerable, and hoping maybe we’d finally show up. And what did we do?”
He looked at Charles.
“You shouted at her husband.”
He looked at Lorenzo.
“You stayed quiet until she was crying.”
Then he looked at Pascale.
“And you only spoke when Max said the word baby.”
Pascale’s lip trembled. “I didn’t know.”
“She didn’t trust us with it,” Arthur said, softer now. “And that’s the part that should scare you. Not Max. Not the secret wedding. Not the baby. The fact that she didn’t feel safe enough to tell us.”
Lorenzo exhaled slowly, some of the anger draining from his posture.
Charles looked like he’d been hollowed out.
“She was holding her stomach,” Pascale whispered. “Even when she cried, she—she protected the baby. From us.”
Arthur nodded. “Exactly.”
Silence again.
And then, for the first time in a long time, Arthur looked at them all — older brother, older brother, mother — and stood taller than he ever had.
“No one is making her cry like that again,” he said. “Not if I can help it.”
Charles swallowed hard. “So what do we do?”
Arthur’s jaw tightened. “You start by earning a place back in her life. Slowly. Without demands. Without entitlement. You show her you’ve changed. And if you haven’t? You step aside.”
No one argued.
No one could.
Because they’d all seen what Arthur had — a sister at the end of her rope, still trying to offer them grace.
And they’d nearly broken her again.
But maybe not completely.
Maybe, if they were lucky, there was still time to do better.
To be better.
To finally be family in the way Belle had deserved all along.
***
Belle woke to sunlight and silence.
Her eyes burned. Her head ached. Her throat felt tight from the hours she’d spent crying into Max’s chest the night before. For a long time, she just lay there — curled on her side, one hand resting against the soft curve of her stomach, the weight of the last twenty-four hours pressing against her skin like bruises she hadn’t earned.
Max wasn’t in bed.
That was the first thing she noticed.
But when she pushed back the covers and sat up, she could hear him. Low voices. The sound of him in the kitchen. Coffee brewing. Something being cut on a chopping board.
When she padded out into the hallway, Max looked up instantly.
“You’re awake,” he said gently. “How are you feeling?”
She blinked at him. He was already dressed — hoodie, jeans, hair still damp from a quick shower. He looked like he hadn’t slept, though she had no idea when he’d crawled into bed beside her. All she remembered was him holding her until her tears stopped.
“Tired,” she said honestly. “Drained. Like I fought a war in a hotel lobby.”
Max’s mouth twitched, but he didn’t smile. Not really. He poured her a glass of water and walked it over.
“You need to get dressed,” he said softly. “We’ve got an appointment at 9:30.”
Belle blinked. “Appointment?”
“With your OB.”
She stared at him. “You made a doctor’s appointment?”
Max looked… sheepish. In that way only Max Verstappen ever could — a little bit guilty, but completely unapologetic. “You were crying for over an hour. You didn’t eat. You didn’t sleep until after midnight. You kept holding your stomach like it hurt and I just—” He broke off, rubbing the back of his neck. “I need to be sure everything is okay. With you. With the baby.”
Something inside her cracked — not with annoyance, not even embarrassment, but with a kind of vulnerable affection that made her chest ache.
“I’m fine,” she said, quietly.
Max didn’t argue.
But he looked at her like fine would never be good enough again.
They left ten minutes later.
She wore leggings and one of Max’s hoodies, too tired to care. Her hair was in a bun, her face bare. Max had packed snacks and a water bottle in her bag like he was preparing for a cross-country drive. He opened the car door for her without a word. Held her hand at every red light.
The clinic was quiet when they arrived — not many patients that early. A nurse smiled at them, already familiar with Belle, and waved them through. Max never let go of her hand.
The doctor — kind, warm, sharp-eyed — asked gentle questions. Belle answered them all in a quiet voice.
“Any unusual cramping? Headaches? Nausea? Emotional stress?”
Belle glanced at Max, then gave a small, exhausted laugh. “Define unusual.”
The doctor smiled, then softened. “What you went through yesterday? It matters. Stress does affect the body, but you’re here now. We’ll check everything.”
And they did.
A blood pressure cuff. A blood draw. The gentle press of a fetal doppler wand against her stomach.
Then— The soft, rhythmic sound of a heartbeat.
Max’s fingers tightened around hers. He didn’t say anything. But when Belle looked at him — really looked — she saw it in his face: that fierce, wordless love that had carried her out of that therapy room and straight into this one.
The doctor smiled. “Heartbeat sounds perfect. Baby’s strong. And you’re doing better than you think.”
Belle let out a shaky breath she didn’t know she’d been holding.
Max pressed a kiss to her temple.
“I just wanted to be sure,” he whispered. “I couldn’t watch you cry like that and not do something.”
Belle closed her eyes.
Then, without even thinking about it, she rested her head against his shoulder and whispered:
“Thank you.”
Because it was more than an appointment.
It was a promise.

It was raining softly against the windows when Belle brought it up.
They were curled up on the sofa — Max in joggers and a hoodie, Belle tucked against his side with a blanket draped over her legs, her cheek resting on his chest. The television hummed quietly with some old documentary neither of them were watching. Max’s hand traced slow, absentminded circles against the bump that had started to become undeniable beneath the fabric of her sweatshirt.
“We should probably tell the rest soon,” Belle murmured.
Max didn’t answer right away. His fingers stilled, then resumed their gentle pattern.
“I know,” he said. “I just… don’t want it to turn into a thing.”
Belle lifted her head slightly to look at him. “Like… a press release thing? Photoshoot? Magazines? Perfect lighting and fake candids of us in a meadow somewhere?”
He let out a soft snort. “Can you picture me in a meadow?”
Belle smiled. “Only if you were holding a kitten and a baby goat.”
“Belle.”
“Okay, fine, just the baby goat.”
Max laughed into her shoulder, pressing a kiss there. “No photoshoots. No flower crowns.” He made a face. “No soft-focus, perfectly lit, black-and-white Instagram announcement with matching white outfits and hands shaped like a heart.”
She laughed softly, burying her nose in his shirt. “The horror.”
“I mean, unless you want that,” Max added quickly. “If you want that, I’ll do it. I’ll even wear linen.”
Belle looked up at him again, mock-serious. “Max, you’d rather crash into a gravel trap at Monaco than wear linen on purpose.”
“Correct.”
She smiled against his hoodie. “I just… I don’t want it to feel like I’m trying to prove something.”
“You don’t have to prove anything,” Max said, his voice low. Sure. “You’re pregnant. You’re my wife. That’s it.”
Belle glanced up at him. “You say that like it's simple.”
“It is.” He tilted his head a little, thoughtful. “So how do you want to do it?”
She shrugged. “Something honest. Quiet, but… real.”
Max was quiet for a beat. “You mean, like the wedding.”
Belle smiled. “Exactly like the wedding.”
He leaned forward and kissed the side of her head. “We can do quiet. That’s our specialty.”
She chuckled, then bit her lip. “I was thinking… what if we just posted a photo? Not even of us. Just a pair of tiny shoes on the coffee table and a caption like, ‘Coming soon.’”
Max grinned. “You want to break the internet again.”
“I want to give it to us first,” she said. “And let everyone else catch up later.”
Max looked at her like she hung the stars. “Deal.”
They sat in silence again, the kind that meant safety.
“I don’t need the whole world to know at once,” Belle murmured, her voice softening. “I just want to share it in a way that feels like us. Not a brand.”
Max pulled her closer, his hand still resting protectively over the bump neither of them could stop reaching for.
“Then that’s exactly what we’ll do.”

Belle: Thinking of announcing the pregnancy before Silverstone.
Emilie: oh?? as in… telling the entire planet??
Belle: Yep. Before I start showing enough that people start whispering.
Emilie: You mean before more people start whispering You okay with going public?
Belle: I think so. We’ve been quiet long enough. Besides… Silverstone’s always a circus. May as well drop the baby news before the clowns arrive.
Emilie: Iconic behavior tbh Do I get a heads up before the post goes up so I can prepare emotionally
Belle: Of course. Also— You should come.
Emilie: To Silverstone??
Belle: Yes.
Emilie: Belle. That’s Lando’s home race.
Belle: And you like Lando.
Emilie: I do not like what this insinuation implies.
Belle: You like him. He adores you. Your flirting during dinner could’ve powered the entire paddock.
Emilie: Okay first of all That’s rude And accurate
Belle: Come anyway. Come as my friend. Not as Lando’s girlfriend.
Emilie: …you are dangerously persuasive.
Belle: Lily’s coming too. It’ll be fun. You, me, Lily, a very grumpy Max pretending not to be nervous about the baby stealing his press conference thunder.
Emilie: You really think the baby will upstage Max?
Belle: If she has my hair and his eyes, absolutely.
Emilie: oh my god if it’s a girl with his grumpy face and your attitude the world is not ready
Belle: Exactly. Which is why you need to be there. Help me judge the chaos.
Emilie: Okay okay Fine But if Lando tries to make things serious while I’m there I am blaming you
Belle: Deal. You’ll be the secret girlfriend, I’ll be the public wife. We’ll keep balance in the universe.
Emilie: Verstappen-Leclerc diplomatic summit in Silverstone Can’t wait.
Belle: You bring the wine. I’ll bring the reveal.

My plan to escape homelessness. I need your help to get started before winter!
hello friends! i'm a homeless queer guy living in a tiny car. it's been like this for most of my adult life, and i'm trying to make a change! I want to convert a van into my new home! my plan involves these stages:
Stage 1: acquire a van.
while still living off donations in my car, i'm fundraising. as soon as i can afford one, i'll purchase a van. the market shows most used vans that would be suitable are around $3.5-4.5k give or take. we're already about halfway there!
I'm really hoping this stage can be complete before november, as my car is not suited to survive another winter and it could be devastating to attempt it.
Stage 2: survive winter
since winter is approaching, i'll need to quickly put insulated walls in the van and make sure i can live in it. at this point, it'll already be an upgrade to my car, but i won't be able to do much building in cold weather, so it'll just be the bare minimum i need to survive the winter.
during this time, i'll be taking measurements, drawing plans, researching appliances, and generally preparing for the build process. i'll continue fundraising to make sure i can afford all the materials and tools i'll need. i may also take care of any maintenence the van might need. i'll also clean and sell my car so i have some cash from that as well.
Stage 3: build my home!
when it gets warm enough, i'll start doing the actual build. i'll document this on video as much as i can, and post the process on my youtube channel for not only the people who helped me, but for anyone who's curious. i'll start with solar panels and an electricity system, i'll add countertops and kitchen appliances, a shower and sink with plumbing and warm water, a toilet, a real bed, lights, climate control. it'll be essentially a house on wheels, and just the right size for me!
Stage 4: whatever comes next
once i have my new home, i'll need an income. i may take a regular job to support myself at first, and that will actually be possible when i have a shower. but, i've been considering making content pretty much my whole life, and now i think i have a great chance to actually pursue that. i'll use some of the money from selling my car in stage 2 to get some basic equipment (laptop, mic, camera). i'll be posting my van build at first, and after that i'll probably start by telling stories about my time being homeless, but i'm also interested in streaming and video essays. thanks to all the generous support i've been getting from my followers and other people on the internet, i feel my opportunities are wide open!
Please consider donating to my fundraiser to help me change my life!

Tim Drake Accidentally Takes Over the World (and Didn’t Think to Mention It)
So, Janet somehow spent decades climbing her way into every government worth a damn, ruling the entire world from behind the scenes. And then, because the universe is apparently wild, she left it all to Tim.
Cut to Tim Drake, the brand-new, completely reluctant secret ruler of the entire planet. And he just… never really thought it was worth mentioning?
The Batfam finds out when Bruce stumbles across an encrypted memo traced to a mysterious Gotham office with Tim’s name on it.
Bruce, holding up the memo: “Tim. Want to explain why this document about, oh, international finance reforms is signed with your encryption key?”
Tim, not even looking up from his laptop: “Oh, yeah. That. Janet left me her ‘global influence portfolio’ or whatever. Mostly paperwork.”
The Batfam stares in total shock.
Dick sputters nearly dropping his coffee: "Wait—you’ve been managing world policies?!”
Tim, shrugging, barely paying attention as he emails the president of Germany: “Well, yeah. I figured someone had to keep things running. It's not that big a deal. I mostly just redirect some policies. You know, keep things running smoothly.”
Jason, absolutely cackling: “Are you telling me that little Replacement here is the reason for half the ‘global cooperation’ headlines?”
Tim, scrolling through emails: “They send me reports; I send suggestions. And honestly, they make it way more dramatic than it is. It's not that hard."
Barbara stares at him, half horrified, half impressed. “How did we not notice this?”
Tim blinks. “I mean, it’s not like I was actively hiding it. I assumed you guys knew I was… kind of managing these things?”
Cue utter disbelief.
Stephanie, laughing too hard to breathe: “Tim, do you have world leaders on speed dial?”
Tim, completely unfazed: “Only the important ones. They text, mostly. Oh—by the way, I might’ve influenced a minor arms control thing last week. Don’t worry; it’s all sorted.”
Bruce, looking like he’s two seconds from fainting: “Sorted? Tim, we're talking about you having global authority here. People notice these things."
Tim shrugs again as his phone buzzes with notifications. “Sure, but it’s not like they’re going to do anything too crazy. I just suggest stuff, and they listen. Honestly, it’s like herding really powerful, really overdramatic cats.”
Damian, scandalized: “You mean to tell me, Drake, that you’re manipulating world politics like it’s a game of checkers?”
Tim, still casual: “Manipulating’s a strong word. Like I said, it’s more just nudging things along.” His phone buzzes again. “Oh, hang on. France is panicking about their energy policy again.”
The Batfam tries to process the fact that Tim—Tim, who routinely forgets what day it is—is now, somehow, running the world.
And then his phone buzzes with a message from the UN Security Council.
Tim sighs, glancing down. “Oh, great. Looks like they’re debating nuclear arms again. Be right back.”
Meanwhile, the Batfam is left absolutely speechless, processing the fact that their Tim—scrawny, coffee-fueled Tim—is apparently one of the most powerful people on the planet. And to him its just another tuesday.
#tim drake#batfam#tim accidentally becomes the most influential person in the world and its not even his fault#janet was totally paranoid ant who knows what and knew she had to get herself involved with any politics she could#somehow this means she ends up becoming some kind of consultant that all the governments go to for any advice#tim just doesn't care because it means more paperwork for him#tim learned everything he knows from janet herself so when she dies they all do what she wrote in her will and go to her son instead#batfam in absolute disbelief#how did none of them realize?!#tbf i dont think its something anyone would realize unless they were out right told#tim drake ruling the world

🚨Emergency🚨
Help Rana’s family toleave Gaza before it too late
Hello humanities 🤗🤗
Please read this as if I'm a member of your family . maybe your sister, daughter or a friend and as if my family who's under death now is yours.
"I am a computer Engineer and Mom for 3 children from Gaza , Rana Hassan Alabsi, with a strong ambition and perseverance. Over the past 10 years, I've worked tirelessly, I've dedicated myself to my family, working hard, planning, building my career. Despite facing challenges, I became a well-known professional engineer in Gaza.

Unfortunately, my life has been upside down since Oct ,Since that particular day, thousands of innocent lives have been lost in Gaza, many of innocent people lost their works and the only source of income like me.

Me and my childrens 1 of them, he is10 years old with downsyndrom and need a safer place and health care to still a live, left our home under the continuous bombardment and artillery strikes, on foot, without carrying with us our personal supplies, clothes, or Even our money, heading from Gaza to Deir al-Balah. There in Deir al-Balah we lived the most difficult days of our lives in a shelter with scarce resources, sleeping on the ground.
Without covers, without drinking a healthy water, then we moved to Khan Yunis after the intensification of the strikes and bombing, Then we moved to Rafah in the hope that we would find safety there or find a way out of Gaza to a safe place that we dream of for the future of our children,Let us live a happy, safe life for us and our children, and keep them away from all this pain, destruction, and siege, and spare them from the miserable future that will await them if the situation continues as it is in Gaza.
I come to you with a heavy heart and an urgent call for help. My family are currently caught in the war in Gaza, facing the harsh reality of an escalating crisis. The situation is dire, and I am reaching out for your support to facilitate their safe passage to Egypt. In this moment of desperation, I share the situation where it has taken a toll on their well-being.
This urgent plea is not only for their safety but also for the health of my son, who is facing serious conditions that demand immediate attention.

My family is trapped in an environment where access to necessary medical care is severely limited. The escalating crisis compounds the urgency, especially considering my son's health conditions. Time is of the essence, and we are in a race against it to get him the vital medication and care he desperately needs.
My loved childrens are in a situation beyond their control. The fear in their eyes and the desperation in their hearts are indescribable. I implore you to be a beacon of hope for them, to be the force that guides them to safety. To be honest, the journey to safety comes with a significant financial burden.
We need the money to cover practical costs of transportation, documentation, a place to stay and shelter in and other essentials required for a safe crossing to Egypt. And so that they can take care of other needs once they cross safely. As of late April the evacuation fee ranges between $8,000 and $10,000 per person, before processing and transport fees, and we will pay the higher end of the range since Hayde doesn't have passport. Me and my family asking for 50,000$ based on the following breakdown: an evacuation fee at the Egyptian border of $8,000 - $10,000 per person , $4500 - $5000 per children as each day there is a different price for evacuation fee at the Egyptian border, plus a processing fee of $2,000 per person, $2,000 for transportation, and a 2.9% commission fee.
Any amount raised beyond the total will be used to supplement me & my family lives as refugees in Egypt. Your donation, no matter how small, will make an impact. You will be contributing to getting my family to safety. The funds will be used transparently and every dollar will go towards securing our evacuation.
Please share this campaign widely to help us reach our goal and bring my family to safety. Your support means more than you can imagine and I am incredibly grateful for any assistance you can provide during this challenging time. Thank you for your compassion and generosity. Together, we can make change and help my family find the safety and security they need".

i would love to know more about their kids finding out how really is their dad after maybe seeing some situation with reader
a/n: this is really sad guys :( i low key want to make like a little part two on maybe her kids getting to like know her better as person not just as their mom and their dads wife
your daughter, now getting older and more perceptive, starts to notice the differences between her life and the lives of her friends. she’s at that age where she’s starting to question the world around her—what’s normal, what isn’t. she sees her friends’ moms working, making their own money, having their own identities outside of the home. they joke about “mom’s night out” or how their mom’s career is a big part of who they are.
but when she looks at you, her mother, all she sees is a woman whose entire life revolves around her father. cooking. cleaning. taking care of the house. going to the spa on the rare occasion that he allows it. she knows it’s not the same, but she’s not sure what’s wrong with it. she’s just starting to feel it—the way you seem to fade into the background sometimes, your happiness coming second to rafe’s demands and expectations.
she knows you love him. she sees the way you try so hard to make everyone happy, but something is off. you’re not the woman you used to be. the woman who laughed and joked and did things just for herself.
one evening, after watching her friends’ moms laugh together at dinner, she quietly retreats to her room. later that night, she knocks on your door, a small frown on her face.
“mom, can i ask you something?” her voice is soft, like she’s trying to figure out if it’s okay to ask. when you invite her in, she sits on the edge of the bed, hesitant.
“is... is that what love is?” she asks, her eyes wide and searching. “like... the way dad is with you? is that how it’s supposed to be?”
your heart drops, and you pause. you know exactly what she’s asking. the quiet control, the way he takes over every aspect of your life, the way your needs have always come last—she’s starting to see it.
“oh sweetheart,” you start, your voice gentle, but it feels heavy. “sometimes... love can look different for everyone. but love should always make you feel safe, and happy... not like you’re always giving up who you are.”
she stares at you, digesting your words carefully. she’s still young, but she’s so intuitive, and she can sense when things aren’t right. she doesn't say anything more, but you can tell she’s still processing it.
the next day, things go quiet at home—rafe’s doing his usual thing, working hard and expecting everything to be perfect. he’s always in control, but today, something feels off. your daughter—she’s been distant, quieter, not her usual bouncy self. you can tell she’s still thinking about it.
later, she seeks him out. maybe it’s during one of those rare moments when he’s sitting at the table, looking over his phone or documents. she walks up to him, not shy, but cautious. he looks up at her, a little surprised by the seriousness in her demeanor.
“dad,” she starts, her voice soft but firm, “is that what a husband is supposed to be? like, the way you’re with mom? is that how it’s supposed to be when you’re married?”
her question hits him like a punch to the gut. for a moment, he’s taken aback, unsure how to respond. she’s not being disrespectful—she’s asking a question. a question he hasn’t really thought about. he tries to brush it off, giving her one of his usual answers, the ones that always work:
“your mother and i have an arrangement, honey. everything fine. this is just how things work.”
but the doubt in her eyes lingers.
“but mom doesn’t smile like she used to,” she says quietly, almost as if she’s testing him. “she’s always doing things for you, but when does she do things for herself?”
that question hangs in the air between them. and for the first time, rafe doesn’t know how to answer. he can feel the shift in the atmosphere. his daughter is growing up. she’s starting to see past the surface. and it’s not just about the way he controls everything anymore—it’s about her mother.
for the first time, he feels a crack in his carefully constructed world. his grip on everything, including her, is slipping, and the unsettling thought is almost enough to make him confront the truth.
but he doesn’t.
meanwhile, his eldest son has been observing all of this from the sidelines. he sees the way his sister looks at rafe with those wide, questioning eyes, and he can’t help but feel vindicated. he’s always been more judgmental, more aware of the tension at home, but this? this is the moment when it all falls into place.
his friends’ moms have jobs, careers, lives outside of the house. they don’t have to ask for their space—they just have it. their moms are people in their own right, not just extensions of their husbands. he’s starting to see his mom in a new light—not just as his mother, but as a person, a woman who has been diminished by the constant control and the expectation to please.
and the more he sees his dad try to sweep it under the rug with empty promises or distractions, the more he wants to step in. but what can he do? he’s just a kid, too.

happy two years on tumblr to me today!! 🥳
here’s my favorite shy boy to celebrate
simon ghost riley who is too nervous to talk to you or approach you. you’re just so naturally gorgeous and put together, he’s afraid he’ll say something wrong and scare you off. so he just continues to observe from afar. kinda feels pathetic, like he’s back in elementary school, but he can’t help it.
you’re the pretty diplomatic relations officer on the 141 team, a newer addition who helps with all the paperwork and policy. you work more with captain price, however you conduct meetings sometimes and talk to the guys here and there for their opinions.
simon ghost riley who still remembers the first day you spoke to him, everything you said, hell, the first time you so much as looked into his eyes. your gorgeous smile turned his tummy upside down and he has the stunning image of you engraved into his mind. little did he know, you thought he had the prettiest, bluest eyes you’ve ever seen.
you make excuses just to touch him too, handing papers over for him to sign and slipping your hand over his. or going to walk past him but then holding onto his arm to tell him good morning. simon thinks you do this with everyone because you’re so open and kind like that, but you save all your special attention for him only.
simon ghost riley who one day has had enough of johnny stealing your attention and asking you out right in front of him. he’s sick and tired of kyle making up the dumbest reasons to include you in physical training just to touch you and “help your form”.
enough of that shit.
so he takes things into his own hands and comes storming into your meeting with price. both of you look up rather surprised at the sudden and brooding intrusion, right in the middle of some document reviewing-
“we need to talk.” simon declares, eyes unmoving from yours, intense, desperate… if you didn’t have your understanding of him, you’d think he wanted to beat you up.
“riley, this is hardly the appropriate time, we-“
“it’s okay, captain. we’ll be quick, yeah?” you nod at simon and he immediately turns around to the hallway. you get up slowly, looking at john and he matches your “okay then” look.
simon ghost riley who is pacing, he’s cracking his fingers and playing with his belt loops. it suddenly hits him that he’s finally gonna be alone with the woman he finds absolutely irresistible. can he control himself? will he make a fool out of himself? will you reciprocate if he goes through with this? if you don’t, then what? fuck.
“simon?” you start, closing the office door behind you, leaving you two alone. “everything okay?”
he’s fawning over your big doe eyes, full of concern and empathy for him, utterly focused on him. it makes the crotch of his pants tighten and he has the strongest urge to pull you to him. he’d take you in the hallway up against the wall here if you’d let him. but he’s getting ahead of himself here.
“uh- yea. good.” he manages to stutter out. god, he’s never felt this nervous in his life. for once it feels like he truly cares what will happen to him. he cares for you, wants something with you. well, only one way to find out. no more stalling. enough of this shit.
simon ghost riley who strides towards you, taking off his mask in the process and bringing your head into his hands. he connects his lips to yours before you can protest. you just feel warmth and you lean into him. his fingers dive into your hair, deepening the kiss and he’s over the moon. you actually seem to want him too, you’re reciprocating and his nerves are eagerly replaced by thoughts of you moaning out his name as your hands move to his waist.
when you pull back for air, you’re met with Simon’s eyes glazed over by lust for you. his lips are pink, puffy and he’s still looking at yours like he’s not had his fill of them yet. “want you… ‘long time” he murmurs out before reconnecting. he’s overcome by your taste, your warmth and your fingers slipping into his pants. it makes him moan into your mouth, his hands flying to your hips, pushing you roughly up against the wall.
simon ghost riley who only raises his eyebrows as if to ask the question and you’re rapidly nodding. yes, yes, god, yes please take me.
“all yours” you whisper against his mouth, arms crossing behind his neck. the possessiveness that he tries to push down comes bubbling up and escapes his mouth with a groan.
he hoists you up, grasping your ass and your legs wrap around his waist.
“always been yours, si”
“good. ‘cus now you’re gonna be a good girl and show me.”
